Constant crashing

Don’t know about this new update… everything looks good, but, going for a one letter hint causes a crash (and all settings to reset), trying to backspace while entering a word causes a crash and settings reset. Where the + button is to add puzzles, there is red lettering that says "AD-H…” rendering that button unusable. This is on iOS 6.1.6, I would love to buy a new iPod to get iOS 7.1, but it’s not in the budget yet. Hoping for a quick fix, as this is my daily use all the time app (I’m a crossword nut), of all the iOS apps I use, this is number one out of 140 apps.
